A Learning EVent Off the Square

Tour electric vehicles with MGE Sept. 21.

There are more than 1.2 million electric vehicles (EVs) on roads in the U.S.—and it's easy to see why. EVs represent the latest in innovation with lower—or no—emissions, less maintenance cost, and they are fun to drive.

Your chance to explore a number of different EVs all in one place is coming up! Join MGE to learn about the benefits of EVs from those who drive them. The Madison Area National Drive Electric Week event is free to attend.

Madison Area National Drive Electric Week Event

Saturday, Sept. 21
9 a.m. to noon
Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (off the Capitol Square)

Local EV drivers and dealers will have vehicles on display—from sedans to crossovers and SUVs. And, they'll be available to answer questions.

MGE's EV experts also will have on display our all-electric Chevy Bolt, which can travel up to 238 miles on a single battery charge and go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in fewer than 7 seconds. The annual event is held in partnership with National Drive Electric Week, which runs September 14 through 22.

Deep discounts still available

The appeal of EVs continues to spread and incentives are being offered to drivers interested in going electric. Nissan is offering a $3,500 rebate on the 2019 Nissan LEAF and a $2,500 rebate on the new, 2019 LEAF Plus. Coupled with the federal tax incentives, drivers can save up to $11,000.

Since the LEAF is all-electric, that means no filling up the tank, no oil changes and no tailpipe emissions. Plus, it boasts a range of up to 226 miles on a single charge! Visit mge.com/driveelectric for more details.
